Portion of road caves in at Khaliullah Mosque, 2nd incident in 15 days in Okhla
A portion of road collapsed near Khaliullah Mosque on Sunday night, according to residents. A resident, who was passing by the road, posted a video and said a small portion of the road near a juice corner at Khaliullah Mosque road collapsed.
No untoward incident took place, said Advocate Haider Ali, adding that a scooter got stuck and residents help it extricate. Nobody was hurt, he said.
Ali said other residents also reached the spot.
This is not the first incident in Okhla. On June 25 a road at Okhla Head had collapsed on a rainy day leading to several cars parked on the spot getting damaged, residents had said then.
Okhla residents Akram told the OT then that two vehicles parked there were damaged. The portion of the road which caved in is used by private taxi drivers to park their vehicles.
A vehicle owner Shahid told the OT that the vehicle has been sent to a workshop to fix the damage. “But just see it is dangerous. It is a busy road and it happened very late in the night. It should be fixed as soon as possible and work done here should be fixed properly.”
