AAP founder member in Okhla and councillor ticket aspirant in 2017 from Abul Fazal Enclave ward, Irshad Alam, is no more. Alam, 62, was unwell and died in a Delhi hospital on Thursday at 9pm, said his friend Shah Nawaz.

Before falling ill years ago, Alam was very active socially and was a great supporter of Arvind Kejriwal. He had joined the party in initial days. After being denied ticket and with his health deteriorating, Alam stopped active participation in the local issue, said people who knew him for years.
By profession Alam was an accountant working with a private firm in Delhi until his retirement years ago. He came to Jamia Nagar and settled down in then yet to develop locality, getting married in a Jama Masjid, Old Delhi, family.
He was from Bhagalpur and will be laid to rest in Shaheen Bagh graveyard after Friday prayer today, said Rashid, a family friend.
Alam, who did his BA from Jodhpur university, has left behind a son and a wife, both residing in Abul Fazal Enclave. His wife teaches in Jamia Middle School.
