Another murder in Okhla, this one in Muradi road
The alleged murder of a man in a busy Muradi Road market area on Monday night just a few days after a murder incident reported from Noor Nagar jhuggi area has left residents in deep shock. It is reported that the body of a man, 58, running a footwear shop on this road near a bank ATM, was found in the shop on Monday night.
Former Congress Councillor Shoaib Danish said it is shocking to know that an elderly man’s body was found in the shop.
The probe is on to find out exactly what happened and how the murder unfolded. Senior police officers had turned up at the spot for probe. The shoe owner was allegedly stabbed to death.
After words spread of a body in the shop, local leaders, including Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan, Mahmood and others turned up on the spot.
The deceased named Islam Noor was a resident of a city in Uttar Pradesh and used to reside in Shaheen Bagh, said sources. Khan told YouTuber Farhan Yahaia that this is fourth murder in a month. “This is a peaceful locality and crime is negligible in the locality and it is shocking thing. It is not good for the area. Murder in Muradi Road at 10.30 pm is not a good sign as the road is most of the time full with activities,” he said.
Muradi Road is a market area with shops lined-up from one corner to another with residents also residing here in high-rise buildings.
Mahmood said after words spread in the locality that a man has been murdered and his legs tied, they reached the spot with others.
