Prof. (Dr.) M. Afshar Alam, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Jamia Hamdard and Prof. Asim Ali Khan, Chief Medical Superintendent & Dean, SUMER, Prof. Minhaj Ahmad, Medical Superintendent, Majeedia Unani Hospital officially received NABH Certification of Majeedia Unani Hospital as an accredited AYUSH Hospital in a grand ceremony at Unani Day Celebrations 2025 & International Conference held on 13th February, 2025 at Jamia Hamdard. The certificate was handed over by Dr. Atul Mohan Kochhar, CEO, National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers. Prof. Asim Ali Khan stated that under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) M. Afshar Alam, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Jamia Hamdard, this accreditation reaffirms our dedication to delivering safe, effective, and high-quality AYUSH treatments besides broadening patient access through empanelment with leading government and non-government organisations.
Prof. (Dr.) M. Afshar Alam, Vice Chancellor, Jamia Hamdard congratulated all stakeholders including Prof. Asim Ali Khan, Chief Medical Superintendent & Dean, School of Unani Medical Education and Research (SUMER), Prof. Minhaj Ahmad, Medical Superintendent, Dr. Ehteshmur Rehman, Dy. MS, Dr. Nusrat Ahmad, Assistant Quality Manager and their team, all Head of Departments of SUMER, all faculty members, Non-teaching staff members, students of Jamia Hamdard for this big achievement.
In another development, on February 7 Jamia Hamdard welcomed a high-level Libyan delegation on 6th February, 2025, comprising Mr. Mohmoud Ejweli, the Academic Attaché of the Embassy of State of Libya, Prof. Issam Abukhadir, the President of the University of Zawia, Libya and Prof. Mohamed Danfour, the President of the University of Misurata, Libya.
The visit commenced with the felicitation of the esteemed guests by Prof. (Dr.) M. Afshar Alam, Vice-Chancellor, Jamia Hamdard. To provide an overview of the university’s legacy and contributions, a documentary on Jamia Hamdard was screened.
Senior faculty members, including Deans of various Schools and administrative officials, introduced their respective departments and ongoing initiatives. This was followed by a roundtable discussion focusing on potential collaborations in academics, research, student and faculty exchange programs, and joint projects. The two sides also deliberated on the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalise future partnerships.
The delegation was then taken on a campus tour, where they explored key facilities, research centers, and infrastructure, gaining insights into Jamia Hamdard’s contributions to education and innovation.
The visit marks a significant step toward strengthening academic and research ties between Jamia Hamdard and leading Libyan universities, paving the way for greater international cooperation.
