Dr Rafiul Imad Faynan and his wife tested Covid-19 a few days ago, said a source.

Before being hospitalised they were in immediate help as they were having breathing difficulties, said a resident of Johri Farm.

After retirement, Profess Faynan resided in Johri Farm with his family, including wife. Profess Faynan retired from Jamia five years ago, said his former colleague.

Both were taken to hospital after they got beds, said the resident.

Professor Kahlid Hamidi, who retired from Jamia Arabic Department, in February this year, is home quarantined after testing Covid positive. He told the OT over phone that his infection is very mild and he is taking all precautions by staying at his Abul Fazal Enclave flat.

Besides, several Jamia faculty members have tested Covid positive with some hospitalised, in home isolation and some have recovered, including Professor Mubashir of the Urdu Department, PRO Ahmed Azeem and others, from the infection, said a university official.

One Jamia School teacher hospitalised for days succumbed to the infection.
