    Jamia Hamdard NCC Unit commemorates 78th NCC day

    Jamia Hamdard NCC Unit commemorates 78th NCC day

    The National Cadet Corps (NCC) Unit of Jamia Hamdard celebrated the 78thNCC Day at the Archives Building with pride and enthusiasm. The event highlighted NCC’s legacy of discipline, leadership, and national service.

    The celebration featured a Guard of Honour, drill demonstrations, motivational speeches, and cultural performances by cadets from both the Boys’ and Girls’ Wings. The program also showcased the cadets’ year-round achievements in university, state, and national-level activities.

    The event was graced by Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) M. Afshar Alam, as the Chief Guest, and Hena Parveen, educationist and social worker, as the Guest of Honour. Distinguished attendees included Registrar Col. Tahir Mustafa; Controller of Examinations Mr. Syed Saud Akhtar; Director CDOE Prof. (Dr.) M. A. Sikandar; Dean Students’ Welfare Prof. (Dr.) Reshma Nasreen; Deputy DSW Dr. Uzma Bano; Lt. (Dr.) Mohd Ashif Khan, Lt. Maihnaz Bi, and Subedar Major Ajmer Singh from 4 Delhi Girls Battalion.

    The programme began with the Recitation of the Quran, followed by the felicitation of dignitaries and a welcome address by the Dean Students’ Welfare. The Guest of Honour and other speakers highlighted NCC’s role in shaping disciplined and responsible citizens.

    In his Presidential Address, Prof. (Dr.) M. Afshar Alam emphasised the importance of discipline as the foundation of a successful life and lauded NCC’s role in nation-building and instilling leadership qualities among the youth.

    The ceremony included the NCC Oath, administered by Lt. Maihnaz Bi, and a Rank Ceremony recognizing the achievements of outstanding cadets. Cultural performances by the cadets added vibrancy to the event.

    The celebration concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Lt. (Dr.) Mohd Ashif Khan, acknowledging the support of all dignitaries, faculty members, cadets, and staff who contributed to the success of the 78th NCC Day.

    The celebration concluded with the NCC Song, followed by the National Anthem, plantation drive leaving the participants inspired and motivated to take an active role in shaping the future of the nation.
