WFI V-P Khan’s pep talk with Indian grapplers who are on way to Rome
Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) new Vice President Okhla-based businessman and philanthropist Dr Zubed Ur Rehman urf Babban Khan, who also runs Madhusudan Gaushala in his hometown Chandyana, spent a few moments with young grapplers who are on their way to Italy for international championship.
“I wish them best of luck and looking forward to their stellar performance,” said Khan. It has been reported that Indian grapplers are to begin their Olympic year at Rome and the wrestling contingent is ready to fly to Italy for season’s first ranking event – the Matteo Pellicone Memorial in Ostia, an ancient port city near Rome.
Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the 64-year-old president of WFI, had earlier in a Noida wrestling meet, said Indian wrestlers would bring four medals at Olympics.
“I am very hopeful that this time in the Olympics we will bag four medals. Last time also I had expected three medals, but due to the controversies and Vinesh getting injured it was our bad luck and second issue was Narsingh Yadav. But this year I am very hopeful and confident that our athletes will definitely get four medals,” Bhushan told ANI then.
