Youths rob fruit vendor, two arrested
Two youths have been arrested for robbing a coconut vendor, said police, adding that they recovered one mobile phone and cash of Rs 500 from them.
After receiving a PCR call four days ago, the team immediately rushed to the spot in New Friends’ Colony and met the complainant wherein he stated that while he was selling coconuts, three boys approached and robbed him with his mobile phone and a cash of Rs 500, said the police.
After arrest of a youth, a resident of Taimoor Nagar, police said they were able to zero in on another person and arrested him.
The arrested youths told the police that were addicted to alcohol and drugs and to earn quick money and to fulfill their quest of drugs, they started criminal activities.
In another incident on Monday, the staff of PS Bharat Nagar arrested two robbers and recovered a stolen scooty used in commission of crime and robbed cash from their possession under operation Sajag, a drive of North-West District for containment of crime and criminals and to dominate the streets so as to reduce street crimes as well as to instill confidence and sense of security among citizens.
