Formation of subcommittee for EWS Hospital Monitoring for every constituency proposed
A request for immediate intervention in the matter of non-treatment/mis-treatment of EWS category patients at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital was placed during the session of the Delhi Vidhan Sabha today.
Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Karol Bagh Vishesh Ravi has been raising this issue of the EWS category patients being bereft of the benefits at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, said a statement issued by the government.
The patients are not given proper medical consultation, medicines and hospital beds as entitled to EWS category patients at the hospital.
Ravi said the hospital has a long-standing habit of looking down upon the EWS category patients and not providing them with proper medical attention & treatment. He said this discriminatory behaviour by hospital should be looked into immediately as such things are non-acceptable.
The MLA also proposed that an Assembly Constituency wise sub-committee on EWS Hospital monitoring be constituted as a subpart of State Level EWS Hospital Monitoring Committee. This would ensure fair & regular medical treatment of EWS Category patients, he said.
The Health Minister took cognisance of the matter and assured that the Department would strictly look into the matter to ensure that this malpractice is stopped. Further, the Health Minister also said feasibility of MLA Ravi’s proposal regarding Sub-Committees would be looked into, at the earliest.
