Remove encroachment from area on priority basis: SDMC Mayor to officials
All types of illegal encroachments would be removed from the jurisdiction of South DMC and a massive campaign would be launched for this, according to Mayor of SDMC Mukesh Suryan.
During his visit to inspect Roshanpura and Nangli Sakrawati wards of Najafgarh Zone on Friday, the Mayor asked officials to remove illegal encroachment from the area on a priority basis.
The Mayor visited Roshanpura ward and inspected the ongoing works being done by the civic agency. He inspected the SDMC primary school in the ward and took stock of the quality of mid-day meals and other arrangements.
Since Friday morning a report of Dainik Jagran has been doing the rounds on the social media. Though in Hindi, the headline roughly means: “After Jahangirpuri, bulldozers will run in Shaheen Bagh and Okhla.”
The report based on sources said Rohingya and Bangladeshi infiltrators have been identified in six areas, including Shaheen Bagh and Okhla, who have illegally encroached roads and also involved in anti-social activities under the guise of running business of garbage selling.
“If a bulldozer is required, then we will use it. If a senior leader is showing interest in removing illegal encroachments, we should welcome it. There are many illegal encroachments in Okhla, Khanpur and the like, they will be dealt with,” Suryan told The Hindu.
The Mayor visited the dhalao ghar being constructed for the disposal of garbage in the area. He asked officials that special efforts should be made to maintain cleanliness in the area.
Simultaneously, he along with local area councilor Sushma visited different parts of Nangli Sakrawati ward to inquire about their feedback from the local citizens regarding the civic amenities.
He said the ongoing development works in the area should be completed at the earliest.
Suryan was with chairman of Najafgarh Zone Satya Pal Malik and Deputy Commissioner of Zone Pradeep Kumar today inspected Roshanpura and Mayor.
