Watch: Residents upset with slow work of roads dug up for laying sewer pipes

For the last few weeks, residents of F block Abul Fazal Enclave are a worried lot after their main road dug up for laying sewer pipes has turned unmotorable. A resident even said he has seen women and children falling due to dup road and with mud and bricks all over.

“We were happy when we were told about laying of sewer line and had expected it to be over in a few days. But the slow work in fixing the sewer has left residents deeply upset. We want the road to be fixed as soon as possible as life gets to normal,” said Ali, a resident of F block.

Another resident Naeem said we are deeply upset with the slow work. “We don’t know how long we have to wait to get things normal. Customers too have stopped coming due to dup up road. The work is going on in disorganised way. Residents face hardship while walking at night in the dark as the whole lane is dug up,” he said.

A labourer working on the lane fixing sewer line it would take another fifteen days to get things normal as after sewer work pipe line will be laid.

F block is not the only lane which has been dug up for sewer laying as there are many streets in Abul Fazal Enclave which have been dug-up causing hardship to residents.
