    Dr. Asjad Usmani, Head of the Department (Management Studies) and Senior Associate Professor at Don Bosco Institute of Technology, GGS Indraprastha University, has been honoured.

    Dr. Asjad Usmani said he received the Bharat Ratna Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Honorary Award 2025.

    The award, conferred by the Taleemi Bedari Foundation, Lucknow, recognises his remarkable contribution to the field of management education and his leadership in academia. The award ceremony took place at Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, in the presence of educationists, researchers, and dignitaries. Iqra Chaudhary, Member of Parliament, presented the award to Dr. Asjad Usmani. The evening celebrated not only individual excellence but also the collective spirit of educators who continue to shape India’s intellectual and ethical foundation.

    This recognition celebrates Dr. Asjad Usmani’s two-decade-long dedication to higher education, research, and institutional development, values that closely mirror the ideals of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kala, innovation, excellence, and nation-building through education.

    Dr. Asjad Usmani has built a career spanning over 24 years in academia and consultancy.

    His contributions to teaching and research have made a lasting impact on students and fellow academics alike. He has authored six acclaimed books on management, published over 35 research papers in reputed journals, including those indexed in Scopus and ABDC, and secured six patents in the fields of human resource innovation and supply chain management. His academic work combines theory and practice, offering actionable insights for both students and industry professionals.

    A feature story on Dr. Usmani in Business Talkz Magazine titled “Dream Big – From Academic Excellence to Industry Leadership: The Educator Who Transformed Management Education” described his journey as one defined by perseverance, vision, and a deep desire to connect academia with real-world applications.     Dr. Usmani began his academic journey at Patna University and Magadh University before earning his Ph.D. from TMBU, Bhagalpur.     Beyond his teaching responsibilities, Dr. Usmani has played several important leadership roles within educational institutions. These initiatives have focused on productivity enhancement, leadership development, and managerial efficiency, reflecting his ability to apply academic knowledge to real-world challenges.

    While receiving the award, Dr. Usmani expressed his heartfelt gratitude and reaffirmed his commitment to the cause of education.

    “This honour in the name of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam is both humbling and inspiring. It reinforces my responsibility to nurture young minds and to promote an education system that blends innovation with values,” he said.
