Three of a Jamia Nagar family down with dengue

Three members of a family residing in Jamia Nagar are down with dengue, according to a family relative.

Anisur Rahman told the OT over phone that his 26-year-old wife is down with dengue and getting treatment in a local hospital. He said actually two other members in his family, who too were down with dengue just a few days ago, have now recovered from the disease.

Rahman declined to disclose names of his family members.

A day ago the media reported that dengue cases have increased in Delhi, a cause of concern among residents.

A civic report released on Monday said the national Capital till October 9, recorded a total of 480 cases of the virus.

As reported by ANI: Suresh Kumar, Director of Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital, said: “There has been a rise in dengue cases due to prolonged monsoon period and different transmission cycles of mosquitoes, which changes every year.”

Kumar said as of now, most of the cases reported in Delhi are mild, not severe.

“A new virus is created or mutation takes place in it. This time, most of the cases are either mild or moderate. No severe case is there,” he said, as per reports.

Shyam Sundar Agarwal Mayor of East Delhi Municipal Corporation (RDMC) said: “All the three municipal corporations south, north, and east are engaged in the effort. Fogging in every house has been done at least twice or thrice and it is still being done. Pesticides are being poured into drains.”
