He visited Okhla to spend quality time with son & grandchildren, tests Covid positive, dies
Out and out a family man, Ahmad Raza Ansari was regular at his son’s flat in Jamia Nagar to spend his quality time with son and his children. A few weeks ago he came from his hometown Bihar, unaware of the fact that what was in store for him.

After staying for days, 75-year-old Ansari developed Covid symptoms and then started his ordeal. “We all used to wait for Papa to come to our flat. This time something went wrong. After suspecting some Covid symptoms we got him tested soon and the results were a bit surprising as he got positive. Still we were hopeful that like a large number of people who are recovering from the infection he too would come unscathed,” said his son Ershad Ahmad, an alumnus of Jamia Millia Islamia.

Things started getting a bit bad after we noticed his struggle for breath. And when his oxygen level dropped we got alarmed. It was hard to lay hands on oxygen cylinder, but anyhow one was managed. Later on we rushed him to a hospital where he breathed his last a few days ago, said Ahmad, adding that his mother too was tested Covid positive but she now has recovered.
On April 24, Ershad wrote on his timeline: “Deeply pained to share that my beloved father Ahmad Raza Ansari is no more. He died of Covid-19 stimulated cardiac arrest today around 12:30 am today…”
