Cong vs AAP in Batla House: Politicians rush to serve biryani, best food to flood-hit
The Batla House Government school is at the centre of attraction since Yamuna swelled and floodwater entered Dhobi Ghat. It is here where flood-hit families of the locality have been shifted by Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan.
For the last few days, Congress leaders too have turned up at the spot to impress upon the flood-hit victims and Okhla residents. According to one Okhla watcher, Congress leaders, including Asif Md Khan, Shoaib Danish, Councillors Nazia Danish and Areeba Khan, have been camping outside the school building with their supporters to serve meals to flood hit. Former Okhla MLA Asif is seen at the forefront of the campaign and distributing food to the flood hit.
He has also alleged that the food being provided by the Delhi government is not of good quality, a claim rejected by some flood hit victims on Tuesday. Amanatullah trashed such allegations in a video and termed them propaganda.
All told, a resident said it is the flood-hit victims who are having the best of time as they are getting biryani and high-quality food. Election is not far and for these leaders this is an opportunity to woo Okhla residents.
On Tuesday, Congress Councillors from across Delhi reached Batla House to serve food under the Congress food kitchen.
