Install CCTV for women safety, act against miscreants destroying street light in this part of Okhla, appeal residents

These photos are of Mughal Lane, D Block, Abul Fazal Enclave, and were taken by me on two different days, writes resident Arbab.

The first photo was taken four days ago and the second one was taken today.

This is the only major street light on the Mughal Lane. The problem is that this section of the Mughal Lane has become a spot for some drug and alcohol addicts.

They deliberately cut the wire of the pole. Whenever the wire is reconnected by the officials, they again cut it and plunge the whole street into darkness, which is advantageous for their activities as nobody is able to make out who the person is.

This cycle of connection and disconnection of wire keeps getting repeated.

This dark alley and these drug addicts make women and children feel unsafe and vulnerable while passing through the Mughal lane. We need a permanent solution to this problem.

The Councillor of the area, Wajid Khan, must do the necessary. The Councilor must take definite action against those who sabotage this street light and install CCTV camera in the area. Police officials should also take night rounds of the Mughal Lane so to avoid the assembly of drug addicts here.
