Just ten minutes before getting cardiac arrest and being put on ventilator, Naved ul Haque told the OT over phone from his Batla House residence that his brother Haris Ul Haque, a teacher at Jamia Millia Islamia, spoke with his wife through WhtasApp video and everything was going on fine and he was planning to bring her back to home.
But she succumbed, he said.
“On May 7, her report was negative. We had discussion with the doctor for discharge. She was feeling better. Her oxygen level was fine. She was admitted on April 17 and was hospitalised for 19 days. She got 2 units plasma. During admission her oxygen was near about 85,” he said.
Shama Haris was from district Bulandshahar. A housewife, she has left behind a son and husband.
Haris Ul Haque told the OT over phone that at 9 am on Saturday I spoke with her and she was fine. “At 10 am I got a call that her condition has deteriorated. I rushed to the hospital and by the time I reached she had passed away,” he said.
