Thirty two candidates who received coaching and training in the Residential Coaching Academy (RCA), of Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) have been selected in UPSC’s Civil Services Exam 2024. A total of 78 students from RCA appeared in the interview of Civil Services Exam 2024 and out of which 32 have been finally selected. Twelve out of 32 selected candidates are women. Professor Mohammad Sultan passed away on April 21, 2025, at the age of 93 in Okhla, according to his son, Rafay Sultan. The namaz-e-janaza will be held at the main mosque of Jamia Millia Islamia at 9:15 pm on Tuesday. He will be laid to rest at the Jamia cemetery. Residents of Okhla woke up on Thursday to the news of a massive fire that broke out in a residential building in Shaheen Bagh. No casualty has been reported as of now, the police affirmed. Professor Nazim Hussain Jafri, who previously held the position of officiating registrar under Vice Chancellor Najma Akhtar and was reportedly considered close to her then, has been reinstated in the Department of History and Culture at Jamia Millia Islamia.
