Update on former Cong MLA Asif
Former Congress Okhla MLA Asif Md Khan, who was arrested for allegedly misbehaving with police again in January, has completed more than 14 days of his judicial custody, according to lawyer Mohd. Areeb Hasan.
Areeb told the OT over phone that they had filed for bail for Khan and the hearing was held today. The announcement has been reserved and most probably it will happen on Wednesday, said Areeb, who is part of lawyers’ team of Khan.
Khan’s followers and friends are hoping for a positive outcome.
After arresting Khan, the police in a statement to the media had said: “On 04-01-23 at 2 pm, Police officials of Shaheen bagh were checking the CCTV cameras in Nai Basti area regarding an incident of MV Theft.
“Asif Mohammad Khan came on the spot and started misbehaving with the police staff. Accordingly, a case U/S 186,353,341,153 A IPC has been registered at PS Shaheen Bagh and accused Asif Mohd Khan was arrested. Thereafter, he has been sent to 14 days judicial custody by order of the court.”
Now, all eyes are on Wednesday.
