Asif Khan’s Man Friday provides latest update on ex-Cong MLA of Okhla
Arrested on November 27, 2021 for allegedly thrashing South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) staff in Shaheen Bagh at Kalindi Kunj after a video of the incident went viral, former Congress MLA of Okhla, Asif Mohammad Khan, has got bail, according to lawyer Muzakkir Zaman Khan.
He said the Congress leader got bail today and will be released from jail on Wednesday. A few minutes ago, Khan’s associate Abdul Wahab Malik posted on his timeline: “I thank all the brothers from the bottom of my heart who prayed for Asif…. Today he got bail.”
In the video, Khan allegedly hurled abuses and thrashed the staff with sticks who allegedly removed his hoardings and posters from the area. He was also seen forcing them to hold ears while doing squats.
In the video, he is also heard saying: “These AAP people come here and remove our (Congress) posters.”
The IE reported DCP (Southeast) Esha Pandey as saying: “We received a complaint from Ram Kishore, MCD Inspector of Lajpat Nagar zone, regarding the incident. He complained that Khan abused and assaulted MCD staff on duty and obstructed government work. We have arrested Khan. The case is being investigated.”
