In first, Ariba breaks ice with MCD officials for clean, green ward, hosts feast
In first of its kind interaction in Okhla on Thursday, newly elected Councillor from Abul Fazal Enclave threw a feast for MCD officials to break ice with them.
The feast was a huge success as most of the officials turned up and congratulated Ariba for the win. Several video of the events also surfaced on the social media in which it can be seen how Ariba is interacting with the invitee and breaking bread with them.
A Congress worker Javed said such thing has never happened in Okhla. The purpose of such meeting and interaction is to break ice with the MCD officials and convince them to take care of their ward, according to Ariba’s father Asif Md Khan, a former Congress MLA.
Asif said he invited the officials to discuss issues of the locality and understand their problems as well so that cleanliness and other works are done smoothly in the ward. Though the oath ceremony for the MCD is yet to take place, many residents are expecting Ariba to get down to work and address the burning issues.
A resident called the feast for the MCD officials as a masterstroke and said it would certainly help the ward in coming days.
