This girl’s appeal to Amanatullah is heartwarming, watch video
A Class 9 student’s special appeal from Zakir Nagar to Okhla MLA Amanatullh Khan is heartwarming. In a video message, Izma Ali Khan can be heard talking about the poor condition of her lane in Zakir Nagar lane number 22.
She said due to perennial waterlogging in her street she is unable to go to school regularly. She said residents are falling and getting hurt. My father is unable to go to the mosque to offer namaz as the condition of the road is pathetic, she said.
The girl said the situation of her lane has been like this since Eid-Al-Adha 2023 which was celebrated on June 29 with residents offering namaz and sacrifices.
A resident said they have approached Councillor and the MLA several times but the condition of the road is yet to improve with nobody turning up. Residents lamented that this is not only one road whose condition is bad. A few days ago the OT had carried a video report of posh Sealing Club street which for the last many days was overflowing with sewer water.
Following the video report, ex-Councillor Shoaib Danish, whose wife is currently the Councillor from Zakir Nagar, had sent workers to get the lane fixed and the waterlogging issue was addressed a few days before Eid.
Many residents have complained that most of the streets have been dug for sewer work causing hardship to residents. They have urged the MLA to complete work ASAP so that they are saved from hardship.
