Anti-encroachment drive in this part of Shaheen Bagh
Civic agency conducts anti-encroachment drive in this part of Shaheen Bagh, according to residents. Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan shared a few photos and wrote this on his timeline: “MCD removed the encroachment of Shaheen Bagh 40 foot road with police.”
Ward Councillor Ariba Khan’s father former Okhla MLA Asif Md Khan said it was held as many people are upset with road encroachment.
“We are not against any businessmen but people should not encroach the road and there is message for people doing business under Shaheen Bagh High Tension that they too should not encroach the road. The MCD will take action as people want this to end,” said Asif Khan.
Encroachment is a major issue in the locality with many residents calling for permanent solution. A resident said it should be permanently removed rather than being once in a blue moon operation.
A resident said a few days ago one such anti-encroachment drive was taken in Batla House but the squatters were back on the road the very next day.
Residents have been lamenting that mushrooming workshops, illegally parked vehicles and encroachment are major issues in the locality which need urgent care and handling. Many residents want this to end in the locality.
