Watch: Major fire tragedy averted at AFE
Many residents in Abul Fazal Enclave road number 6 heaved a collective sigh of relief on Thursday as a fire that broke out at the empty ground was doused with no loss.
Importantly, no one was hurt in the accident. Abdul Wahab Malick, who was available on the spot, with other residents, said he called the fire brigade which came on time and doused it. The cause of the fire couldn’t be known as the plot is empty with huge wild grass growing with building in the corner.
Till the filing of the report fire brigade, police officials were on the spot looking into what caused the fire. An e-rickshaw driver said a few minutes ago huge smoke was billowing from the ground with residents concerned that it might have spread to neighbouring areas, however, nothing like this happened as the wind slowed the smoke to went slow.
Fire fighters doused the fire.
It couldn’t be known when the fire started with some residents moving around said it started hour ago and slowly spread. However, many a times it has been noticed in the locality that wastes are burned in the open ground, said residents.
