    Okhlaiites, Lajpat Nagar gets automated multilevel car parking

    Okhlaiites, Lajpat Nagar gets automated multilevel car parking

    Delhi BJP President Adesh Gupta, MP Meenakshi Lekhi and SDMC Mayor Anamika today inaugurated automated multilevel puzzle car parking at Firoz Gandhi Marg in Lajpat Nagar-3.

    The newly constructed car parking facility will accommodate 264 vehicles at point of time.

    Praising the SDMC, Delhi BJP President Adesh said the Civic Agency has been making all efforts to construct automated car parking in its area.

    These parking are being constructed in areas where there is urgent requirement of parking lots. Recently the Civic Agency has inaugurated a fully automated car parking in Green Park area and today it has delivered another parking with a capacity of 264 vehicles in Lajpat Nagar.

    He said that despite facing financial crisis, SDMC is achieving new goals.

    Mayor Anamika said the SDMC is achieving milestones in every field as it is committed to provide better services to the people living in Delhi.

    Fully automated car parking having capacity to accommodate 136 vehicles is operational in Green Park area, another parking facility having capacity to accommodate 56 vehicles is near completion in Adhchini Village, construction of an automated car parking having capacity to accommodate 136 vehicles in Nizamuddin Basti is in full swing.

    Another car parking having capacity of 399 vehicles is being constructed in M-Block Market in GK-1 and a car parking with the capacity to accommodate 210 vehicles is being constructed in M-Block Market in GK-2.

    Commissioner Gyanesh Bharti said the newly constructed multilevel puzzle car parking is spread over 978-sqm area and a total of Rs 27.18 crore has been incurred on it.

    Parking users can take out their vehicle in a span of 150 seconds while in traditional design it takes nearly 15 minutes.

    He said the maintenance and running cost of this facility will be lesser in comparison to other lots at it is based on modern techniques. He said the work of automated car parking have been completed and tested with the trial run carried out successfully with the cars.

    On the occasion, former BJP National Vice President Shyam Jaju, Deputy Mayor Subhash Bhadana, Standing Committee Chairman Rajdutt Gahlot, Leader of House  Narendra Chawla, Commissioner Gyanesh Bharti, Chairperson of Central Zone Poonam Bhati, Deputy Chairman Vinod, Chairman of Construction Committee  Sunil Sahdev, Additional Commissioner Randhir Sahay, Engineer-in-Chief P C Meena, Deputy Commissioner of Central Zone Awanish Kumar and senior officials from SDMC were present.

    Salient features:

    The first automated multilevel puzzle car parking project by SDMC.

    The total cost of the project is Rs. 27.18 crore. The total plot area for construction of parking project is 978 sq. Mtr. The automated multilevel parking consists of 06 modules with total 246 ECS/cars (05 modules of 43 cars each and 01 module of 31 cars).

    Each module is having 06 floors (Ground + 05 floor).

    The height of each module is 14.5 mtr.

    There is no manual interference as parking facility is totally automated. The parking facility is for 80 SUV cars at 19 & 2nd level and 166 Sedan cars from 3 to 6 level.

    Underground water tank of 1.50 lakh litre capacity has been provided with pump room for fire fighting purpose.

    Five stair cases for fire fighting purpose have been provided.

    The Delhi Fire Services has granted NOC for the parking system.

    Average retrieval time for each car is 150 seconds.

    Vertical garden/ green walls have also been provided.
