Shaheen Bagh morning fire doused, said residents on Sunday, adding that nobody was hurt in the incident but the bakery located at number 7 was gutted.
Saud Khan said Councillor Wajid Khan also rushed to the spot to join fire dousing efforts with other residents. After hearing the commotion in the locality, Wajid, who resides nearby, rushed to the spot and started throwing water to extinguish the fire, he said.
A resident, who resides near the bakery where the fire broke out at 8 am, said many residents rushed to the spot and started throwing water to extinguish the fire. Nobody was hurt in the incident, but the bakery has been gutted, he said, adding that he was throwing water from the top of his building.
He said the fire brigade came a bit late and by that time the fire was brought under control. However, several videos doing the rounds on the social media, showed that fire brigade team dousing the fire with Wajid standing next to them with other residents.
The reason behind the fire is yet to be ascertained. This fire incident has been reported a few days after another fire incident in a furniture shop at Shaheen Bagh. In that fire too nobody got hurt but the furniture shop was gutted with owner facing huge loss.
