Pall of gloom descends on Shaheen Bagh as 24-year-old youth’s body reaches home

A pall of gloom descended on Shaheen Bagh on Wednesday after the body of a 24-year-old youth reached home, according to residents.

A resident said when the 24-year-old son of Hafiz Mohd Raza, who used to work in Noida, didn’t return home until late at night after his daily duty on Tuesday, the parents and family friends were deeply upset until they received a phone call in the morning from the police on Wednesday.

They were informed that the body of Haider was found near the Maya Puri Flyover, said the resident. After the postmortem, the body was brought to Shaheen Bagh, he said, adding that after asar prayer he was laid to rest in local graveyard.

The family resides in Shaheen Bagh. An investigation is ongoing to uncover the depth of the story.

A screenshot of the post was also circulating in the locality. Efforts to reach family members failed as phone was not reachable.

Late in the day, a close family friend said the parents are confused that how come their son reached other part of the city as his office was in Noida. On that day his mobile too was switched off, he said.

Haider used to work in IT sector in code files, he said.

A bachelor, he had one brother, two sisters.

As the probe is on, the family is avoiding to speak on the subject with the media, said a close family friend.
