The AIMIM has announced candidate name from Abul Fazal Enclave ward for MCD poll and this is 2nd list of Delhi.

AIMIM Delhi president Kaleemul Hafeez tweeted about the list and wrote: “सूची 2: एआईएमआईएम दिल्ली नगर निगम चुनाव 2022 के लिए निम्नलिखित उम्मीदवारों की घोषणा करते हुए प्रसन्न है। 3)सरवारी बेगम मोहम्मद एहतेशाम अनवर – 243 मुस्तफाबाद 4) मोहम्मद आरिफ सैफी – 188 अबुल फ़ज़ल इंकलेव.”
Saifi shared the message with the OT, thanking the party leaders for entrusting him with the responsibility. By doing so AIMIM is the first party to announce name of its candidate from Abul Fazal Enclave which has been been ruled by the AAP.
Also, this is not for the first time that Saifi would be trying his luck for councillor position. He has contested elections in the past unsuccessfuly.
Also, his relationship with Kaleem Ul Hazeez has not been smooth since he was made State president, making to news reports.
Saifi’s comeback shows his good relationship with the top party leaders in Hyderabad, said a political watcher adding that Kaleem had even in his initial days had suspended Saifi from the party.
It would be interesting to see if Saifi can get enough votes to defeat Wajid Khan.
Besides, the fight in Okhla is between the Congress and AAP. Keeping this background in view, the political watcher said it would be Himalayan task for AIMIM to emerge as victorious despite the fact that there is strong resentment in Jamia Nagar against AAP for not doing enough for the locality.
