IMPAR discusses empowering women by leadership training on International Women’s day in AFE
IMPAR celebrated International Women’s day at D-247 Abul Fazal Enclave, Jamia Nagar on Monday.
Sumaira Khan, Prof. Kiran Walia, Sheeba Aslam Fehmi, Naghma Abbasi and Naz Asghar were among the guests.
It was a programme about empowering women by leadership training and awareness, said IMPAR.
“The guest speakers talked about various issues, challenges and achievements of women of different spheres. Sheeba Aslam Fehmi the famous media personality and social activist talked about the need of social empowerment of women as a society we still need to do a lot to make the difference of women’s social status.
“Prof. Kiran Walia former health and education minister showed her concern about the health condition. Despite the fact that we all know the importance of good physical and mental health of women but still society neglect it as a result we are making stressed and depressed and weak society,” it said.
“Sumaira Khan talked about policies and schemes of the government for women and these schemes must be utilised to uplift the condition of women. Naghma Abbasi emphasised on the importance of education for girls especially among Muslims. Education is the only tool which can give privilege to women to live a dignify life with freedom and pride.
“Naz Asghar aware women about their legal rights and how Indian law is strengthening women with special laws by providing free legal aid.
“About 80-100 participants of the community attended the programme. A quiz game was also organised for the attendees. Gifts and certificates were distributed among the winners. At end appreciation certificates were distributed to the volunteers,” said IMPAR programme convener Faizan Tahir.
