Watch: Sewage water inside this AFE mosque, delayed road work upsets residents
Residents of N-block are deeply upset with the delayed road work in their street. They said the situation is very pathetic as sewage water has entered the basement of a mosque on this lane turning into mosquito breeding ground at a time when residents are battling vector-borne disease, including chikungunya and dengue.
Haji Tajuddin said it has been more than two years since work was started in this road to lay pipelines and it is yet to be completed, causing hardship to residents. He said due to road level being increased sewage water is entering submersible with residents being forced to drink dirty underground pumped water.
Another resident Javed Khan said residents are wondering when things will improve on this lane.
Netizen Irfan Hashmi wrote: “Many people are facing problems in the lane even going to the mosque for namaz is difficult.
Another netizen Atif Ali Zaidi wrote: “Why is Famima Masjid lane not being constructed properly. Sewage water gets mixed with submersible and is the cause for spread of tummy upset in this lane. Nobody cares and residents are depressed.”
Several residents, who spoke with the OT, had the same story to narrate. They said they want the road and sewer work to be fixed properly as soon as possible so that their ordeal ends.
