Jamia teachers congratulate Prof Qayyum, newly appointed V-C of Cluster University of Srinagar
News floated through a letter issued by the sign of Chancellor of the Cluster University of Srinagar Manoj Sinha was taken very positively with happiness in Jamia Millia Islamia over the appointment of Prof Qayyum Husain of Aligarh Muslim University as the new Vice-Chancellor of the varsity for 3 years, said Dr. Mohammad Irfan Qureshi, Secretary, Jamia Teachers Association (JTA).
“Professor Qayyum has been very closely associated with Jamia as a member of various committees in the Faculty of Natural Sciences and as an expert in the selection committees.”
“He had been Guest of Honor at many events including International conferences and also delivered keynote addresses”, said Qureshi.
“We shall cherish his cooperation and help he extended to Jamia and hope of a continued association. Also, Jamia’s teachers will extend all possible help in successful running and progress of the university,” he further added.
Prof Qayyum Husain is currently working as Dean Faculty of Life Sciences, Aligarh Muslim University as known as a man of enzyme-immobilization which has revolutionized enzyme-based industries.
A recipient of the DAAD-Germany Fellowship, Prof. Husain had been internationally accolade as a reputed researcher of India. We are confident that the Cluster University of Srinagar will rise to new horizons under the able leadership of Prof Husain.
“Prof Husain is a true team leader with proven excellence. He would bring new courses and laurels to the university. Jamia teaching fraternity whole-heartedly congratulates him for this honor and a challenging responsibility,” it said.
