Earthquake hits Nepal, strong tremors felt in Delhi-NCR, did you feel in Okhla?
An earthquake of 6.3 magnitude on the Richter scale hit Nepal at 1.57 am on Wednesday. The tremors were felt in parts of the Delhi-NCR region as well with residents in Okhla saying they felt the tremors.
A resident said her house was shaking.
According to ANI report, six people have died in the earthquake in Nepal. Many residents in Okhla took to social media to share their experiences with some writing that they were taken aback as the roof and their flats started shaking.
Okhla resident Aqeel Ahmed told the OT that he realised the tremors when he got up for the loo. “As I was unable to sleep I sat to read a new book and realised my chair was shaking. Initially, I thought it was a prank being played by my son. Then my son also wake up saying it was earthquake. We started reciting kalma. The tremor was strong,” he said.
