No possibility of lockdown in Delhi, follow all Covid-19 safety measures: Jain
Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain on Saturday said lockdown is no solution to Covid-19 as we have seen the lockdown but that did not defeat corona completely.
Jain said random testing is being done at the railway station and airport to check people coming from outside to Delhi.
He said the reason for the rise of the corona case is not known, so we will have to follow all the safety measures like wearing masks in public places if you vaccine then also mask is mandatory.
In Delhi on Friday there were 1,534 positive cases and the positivity has remained 1.8 per cent, he said, adding that the positivity from the past 2-3 days has been 1.75 per cent and the active number of cases have also increased.
In order to stop this, we have increased the rate of testing with around 85,000-90,000 tests being conducted each day, he said.
Jain said: “As of now, there is no possibility of another lockdown. We had tried it earlier with not much success. Experts had said that due to its 14-day cycle, a 21-day lockdown would stop the spread of the virus but this did not happen. So for me, lockdown is no solution.”
