Shaheen Bagh mosque leads by example, another one follow suit
A mosque in Shaheen Bagh has lead by example as it has removed a small portion (urinal) on nallah. This was revealed by Okhla MLA Amantullah Khan on Monday during his interaction with the OT and other reporters when bulldozer reached Shaheen Bagh, the spot where anti-CCA protest was going on, for anti-encroachment drive. He told reporters about how a temporary bathroom set up near a mosque was removed.
In a video message, he said he had inspected the area and found that a temporary bathroom was set up near a mosque which he got removed. During a visit to the mosque, the OT saw that the temporary bathroom was removed, setting an example for others across the country to follow.
The move was highly appreciated by local residents with one saying it was done to avoid any inconvenience and commotion at the mosque in case anti-encroachment drive is taken in the locality. Following which, another mosque (Noor J 18 Abul Fazal Enclave) also decided to get away with its temporary bathroom built near the mosque. “We got inspire by the Shaheen Bagh mosque and I started work to get the small temporary bathroom built near the mosque removed,” said activist Syed Hashmi.
Since words spread days ago regarding the SDMC’s anti-encroachment drive in the locality, shopkeepers to have removed their items from the road to stay safe and avoid losing their items.
