Covid vaccine will be administered 4 days a week from January 16: Kejriwal
The Delhi government has made all the required arrangements for the administration of COVID vaccine across the city, according to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
He said he has taken stock of the situation, and all the teams are ready for the COVID vaccination program that begins on January 16.
He said Delhi has received 2,74,000 vaccine doses from the Central government, which will cater to around 1.2 lakh healthcare workers in the first phase. A total of 81 sites have been finalized across Delhi, and around 100 people will be vaccinated in a single day at every site.
Around 8000 healthcare workers will be vaccinated across Delhi on a single day initially, he added. The vaccine will be administered four days a week, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, the rest of the days have been spared for the routine vaccination process. Earlier in the day, Kejriwal took a review meeting of the COVID vaccination rollout plan of the Delhi government.
Kejriwal said: “The COVID vaccination drive is starting across the country from January 16. The Delhi government has made all the required arrangements for the same. The Delhi government and the people of Delhi are fully prepared for the administration of the COVID vaccine. I took stock of the situation, all the preparations have been made and all the teams are ready for the drive. On January 16, the vaccine will be administered at 81 sites across Delhi, and around 100 people will be vaccinated in a single day at every site.”
Kejriwal said the vaccine will be administered four days a week, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
He said: “The rest of the days have been spared for the routine vaccination process.
