“Syed Shehzad Ahmed, 55, a resident of Johri Farm, passed away in a hospital in Patna. He was a known face in Okhla circle among people of Bihar. He had cancer. Twenty days ago he got his daughter married. He was from a landlord family of Nawada,” said Khan.
Jamia Millia Islamia alumnus Nasir Sultan Qazi told the OT that he did Diploma Engineering from Jamia. Even after passing from Jamia years ago, another alumnus said he was in touch with the university students and always ready to lend them a helping hand in time of crisis.
Besides a house in Johri Farm, he had a house in Patliputra in Patna where he was residing after getting his daughter married. It was during Covid lockdown that he was diagnosed for stomach cancer and had started taking medication, said Jamia alumnus who knew him.
One Okhla resident said Ahmed’s death is a shocking news for people of Okhla who knew him for years. He was seen in the locality taking part in social issues, said the resident. The AMOUBA Delhi chapter mourned his death and said Ahmed, who was running a factory in Okhla Phase I, was also at the forefront of philanthropic activities.
