Painters-turned-auto lifters arrested, 3 stolen motorcycles recovered
Two auto lifters, who used to work as painters and school dropout, have been arrested by the staff of PS Kalindi Kunj and three stolen motorcycles have been recovered from their possession, according to the police.
In addition to it, three cases of MV theft have also been worked out, it said. With cases of auto lifting in the area being reported, a team was formed to crack the case and on a tip-off two days ago, police swung into action.
“The police team saw two persons on a motorcycle coming from Jaitpur side. The secret informer pointed towards them and conveyed that they are the alleged auto-lifters. The team immediately responded and apprehended those persons with motorcycle. On asking about the ownership details of their motorcycle, they could not produce any documents. After checking on ZIPNET, the recovered motorcycle was found stolen from the area of PS Kalindi Kunj. Further, on their instance, two another motorcycles were also recovered from Arpan Vihar which were found stolen from the area of PS Okhla Industrial Area and PS Neemrana, Rajasthan respectively. With their arrest, three stolen motorcycles have been recovered from their possession,” said the police.
Further investigation of the case is under progress.
On sustained interrogation, both accused persons disclosed that they are addicted to alcohol and smoking, said police, adding that further, they disclosed that they used to steal motorcycles from different parts of Delhi and its adjoining area with the help of a master key and after stealing motorcycles, they used to sell them at cheap rates to earn quick money to lead a lavish life.
Accused Arman and Alam’s no previous involvement has been found against them in any crime, said police.
