Watch: I will transform Okhla into model city by 2022, says Amanatullah,

Residents in Okhla (Jamia Nagar) will get all the facilities available in other posh colonies of Delhi, said Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan while addressing a crowd in Zakir Nagar during opening of an office by AAP leader Ariz Khan, who is seeking ticket for his wife after the ward has been reserved for woman. Amanatullah urged the residents to vote for AAP candidates in the upcoming MCD polls.

The statement by the MLA has come at a time when residents have been complaining about bad roads, sewer issues, garbage dumping on roadsides, dark spots and other issues related to basic amenities.

“Sewer lines are being laid by the DJB…Road construction and gas pipeline laying work will be started. We are working this year and we want to start giving residents DJB water. Roads will be built, gates will be put, sewers will be laid, pipeline water will be supplied,” he said.

“I got Rs 65 crore to build roads in the locality. Okhla will be turned into a top colony very soon,” he said.

Also, the MLA spoke about Waqf Board English medium school and staring of second shift for Muslim children.

The MLA slammed Congress Councillor Shoaib Danish and local Okhla Congress leaders.

“Five months before the elections, he is seen taking photos and at sites. We elect Councillors for five years not five months. He has no time to meet residents. Garbage dumps are everywhere. Cleanliness is the work of Councillor,” he said.

He said he distributes crores of rupees among the poor. “Allah has given a lot of money to me. Congress should talk about their work. I made a fountain at Jamia and one is coming up at Kalindi Kunj,” said Khan, urging residents to vote for AAP candidates in the upcoming MCD polls.
